P&M Mercury Mechanical Management Team

Providing Chicagoland Business With Reliable HVAC Since 1963

The P&M Mercury Mechanical story starts with a commitment to exceptional service!

David Ruggles, President

After graduating from Indiana University’s business school in 1991, David entered the industry by working for the largest HVAC service contracting conglomerate in the Chicagoland area in 1992.  Very quickly, David rose up the ranks and soon became one of the top three salesmen of an organization that was comprised of over eighty at the time.  After five years with the company, David, along with two partners, pursued and achieved his lifelong dream of owning his own business by buying P&M Heating in 1997 from Jack Molenar, the original founder of the company.  At the time, P&M conducted approximately $1.5 million in annual revenue which quickly tripled when David’s team took over.  Since that time, the company has achieved as much as $15 million in annual revenue.  He has built P&M/Mercury Mechanical (DBA Mercury Mechanical) into a well-respected HVAC contractor whose focus is to always provide excellent service and to develop long-term business relationships with customers.

David married his wife Holly in 1992 and together they have five children.  In addition to his passion for his business, David has had a life-long passion for basketball.  In addition to P&M Mercury Mechanical, David has selflessly mentored and affected the lives of many youths as the head of a large AAU basketball club, Mercury Elite.

Guy Pantalena, Vice President

Guy began his career in the HVAC business in 1974 working as a service technician for founder Jack Molenar.  He was promoted to Service Manager and soon after he became, and remained, Jack’s right-hand man until David Ruggles purchased the company.  Guy’s years of experience, long-term relationships with clients, and vast knowledge of the HVAC industry are major contributing factors to the success of Mercury Mechanical and David readily made him his Vice President, and right-hand man, in 1999.  Guy manages many of Mercury Mechanical’s largest accounts and has been dedicated to the same company for over 42 years.

Guy has been married to his wife Gail since 1976.  He has two daughters, two sons-in-law, and three beautiful grandchildren.
